God Owns You The Benefits

I own a car. That is, my wife and I own it. I am responsible to put gas in it when needed, tires on it when needed, maintain it as needed, etc. Since I maintain it well, it serves me well and meets my needs. I do not own my neighbors* car. He does. He is responsible for it.

Same thing with God. Since He owns me He maintains me. My car had a guarantee that has run out. If the Lord tarries, the car will wear out. My body will also wear out. God has given no guarantee how long my body will last. But He has given me an eternal guarantee for my soul and spirit, the non-physical part of me. He will maintain me for a time in my present body and then He will give me an eternal one.

Philippians 3:21: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

One difference between the car and me is that the car will never rebel against me while my flesh will rebel against God. When I repent of it He forgives and continues to bless and maintain. I might eventually give up on maintaining the car and buy another one. God will give up on my body but He will never give up on me. The benefits of being owned by God are innumerable. Guidance, leadership, protection, security, provision, love, growth, spiritual strength, peace, joy, blessing, love and satisfaction just to name a few.

Psalms 32:8: I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Psalms 23:1: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Romans 8:31b: If God be for us, who can be against us?
